Closed doors

***Every now and then, for no reason than to stop the authorities taking me away, I may write something to try and prove that below it all I’m more than just a hilariously good writer. Sometimes for example I can be an hilariously bad writer too.

This was written trapped on a train. A train that was taking me home again.

There, that should be enough emotional pre-blurb.***

Memories speeding past the glass
Fading shadows in the light of dawn
In the misty haze that surrounds my carriage
A turbulent flight though our lives
Fallow fields half hid in darkness
Lit in speckled cloud bursts of light
A glimpse of heaven racing past me
Like fleeting dreams I left to die

At every stop the doors slide open
For a moment I want to run, be free
Live a new life where no-one knows me
Start again, make my dreams come true
But instead I sit, time moves around me.
In my tiny world, the one I choose
With my tiny dreams, in tiny boxes
Behind tiny windows, watching the view.

Still time to start anew. I truly believe that -- I gave everything up to do just that.

I like this. I used to ride the trains up and down Ireland all the time (very often the mail or the milk train or whatever it was called because it was the middle of the night and cold and damp), and felt the same way.

I found your blog by way of a comment you left on Standing under the Sky. I'm glad you commented there. This is a great blog.

My God someone get me a Frame!

My first praise. I want to save it forever

Hey FC, you're not implying that you've waited so long for praise that you now need a Zimmerframe, are you?

It's good to see you exercising another aspect of your creativity. It might not be obviously compatible with your FC identity, but there's clearly more to you than 'just' FC.

This is a welcome revelation. I hope we will be privy to further glimpses when your muse leads you.

Oh, and just in case I have left you in any doubt...

Well done. A-

MartLake - you've had a busy night. Commenting on almost all my blog entries.

I feel honoured, and also curious as to when you sleep.
